AILET PG (All India Law Entrance Test – Postgraduate) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to LL.M. (Master of Laws) courses.

Eligibility: LL.B. degree (3-Year or 5-Year) from a recognized university.

Exam Pattern: Offline (Pen-and-Paper) consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Frequency: Conducted once a year (usually in December).

Qualification:

  • Must hold an LL.B. degree (3-Year or 5-Year) from a recognized university.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their LL.B. programme are also eligible to apply, subject to meeting the admission requirements.

Age:

  • There is no upper age limit for appearing in AILET PG.

Minimum Marks:

  • General/OBC/EWS Category: At least 50% aggregate marks in the LL.B. degree.
  • SC/ST/PwD Category: At least 45% aggregate marks in the LL.B. degree.

Attempts:

  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts.

Nationality:

  • Indian and foreign are eligible to apply, subject to the admission rules of National Law University (NLU), Delhi.

Mode: Offline (Pen-and-Paper).

Frequency: Conducted once a year (usually in December).

Duration: 120 Minutes (2 Hours).

Total Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Total Marks: 100 Marks.

Question Paper Structure:

  • Law Subjects: All 100 questions are based on different branches of law studied during the LL.B. programme, including Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Torts, Jurisprudence, Property Law, Family Law, Administrative Law, International Law, and other core legal subjects.

Marking Scheme:

  • Correct Answer: +1 Mark.
  • Incorrect Answer: –0.25 Mark.
  • Unattempted Question: 0 Marks (No penalty).

Students who qualify through the AILET PG (All India Law Entrance Test – Postgraduate) can apply for the postgraduate law programme offered by National Law University (NLU), Delhi.
