CMA Foundation Exam

CMA Foundation is the entry-level examination of the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) course in India. It is conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI).

Students who want to become Cost and Management Accountants can appear for the CMA Foundation examination after completing Class 12.

Who Can Apply: Students who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination.

Total Marks: 400 Marks

Mode: Offline, centre-based examination using an OMR sheet.

Frequency: Twice a year — June and December.

  • Class 10: You can register for the CMA Foundation course after passing Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • Class 12: You must pass Class 12 or an equivalent examination before appearing for the CMA Foundation examination.
  • Exam: After completing the required eligibility conditions, you can appear for the CMA Foundation examination.

Marks: 100 Marks for Each Paper

Question Type: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)

Questions: 50 MCQs in Each Paper

Mode: Offline, centre-based examination using an OMR sheet

Duration:

  • Papers 1 & 2: 2 Hours
  • Papers 3 & 4: 2 Hours

Negative Marking: No negative marking

The CMA Foundation exam has four papers:

  • Paper 2: Fundamentals of Financial and Cost Accounting – 100 Marks
  • Paper 3: Fundamentals of Business Mathematics and Statistics – 100 Marks
