IBPS RRB

IBPS RRB (Regional Rural Banks) is a common recruitment examination conducted for the recruitment of officers and office assistants in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).

For students who want to become bank officers, the relevant post is Officer Scale-I.

The exam for Officer Scale-I is conducted in two stages: the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination, followed by a Common Interview.

Example: A graduate who wants to become an officer in a Regional Rural Bank can appear for the IBPS RRB Officer Scale-I examination and, after completing the selection process, may be provisionally allotted to a participating RRB.

Qualification:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Must have proficiency in the local language specified by the participating Regional Rural Bank. For example, a candidate applying for a bank in Kerala may need to know Malayalam.
  • Working knowledge of computers is desirable.

Age:

  • Must be above 18 years and below 30 years.
  • Age relaxation is available for eligible categories as per government rules.

Experience:

  • No prior work experience is required.

Min mark:

  • No minimum percentage is required in graduation.

Attempts:

  • No fixed limit on the number of attempts.
  • You can apply as long as you meet the age and other eligibility requirements.

Mode: Online

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 40 marks, 25 minutes
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 40 questions, 40 marks, 20 minutes
  • Total: 80 questions, 80 marks, 45 minutes

Phase 2: Main Examination

  • Reasoning: 40 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes
  • Computer Knowledge: 40 questions, 20 marks, 15 minutes
  • General Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks, 15 minutes
  • English Language / Hindi Language: 40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minutes
  • Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation: 40 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes
  • Total: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours

Negative Marking: 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

  • Candidates must qualify in the Preliminary Examination to be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
  • The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not counted for final selection.

Stage 2: Main Examination

  • Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination appear for the Main Examination.
  • Marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for shortlisting candidates for the interview.

Stage 3: Common Interview

  • Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination are called for a Common Interview.
  • The interview carries 100 marks.

Final Selection:

  • Final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the Main Examination and Common Interview.
  • Selected candidates are provisionally allotted to a participating Regional Rural Bank.
