ISI Admission Test is an entrance examination conducted by the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) for admission to its undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes.

🔹 Postgraduate Programmes (M.Stat / M.Math / MSQE)

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with mathematical background.

Age: No specific age limit for most postgraduate programmes.

Minimum Marks: Candidates must satisfy the academic requirements prescribed for the chosen programme.

Attempts: No restriction on the number of attempts.

Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper-based Test)

Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (UGA) & Subjective/Descriptive Problems (UGB)

Duration: 4 Hours Total (2 Hours for MCQ Session + 2 Hours for Descriptive Session)

Total Questions: Approximately 38 Questions (30 MCQs + 8 Subjective Problems)

Total Marks: 200 Marks (120 Marks for MCQ Section + 80 Marks for Subjective Section)

Negative Marking:

  • MCQ Section: No negative marking (Correct: +4 | Wrong: 0 | Left Blank: +1 Mark)
  • Subjective Section: No negative marking
