SBI PO (State Bank of India Probationary Officer) is a recruitment exam conducted by the State Bank of India (SBI) to select candidates for the Probationary Officer position.

Stream:

  • Graduation in any stream is accepted.

Min mark:

  • No minimum percentage is required in graduation.

Attempts:

  • General / EWS: 4 attempts.
  • OBC / PwBD: 7 attempts.
  • SC / ST: No restriction.
  • Appearing in the Preliminary Exam does not count as an attempt.

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

  • English Language: 40 questions, 40 marks, 20 minutes
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes
  • Reasoning Ability: 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes
  • Total: 100 questions, 100 marks, 1 hour

Phase 2: Main Examination – Objective Test

  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 40 questions, 60 marks, 50 minutes
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 30 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes
  • General Awareness / Economy / Banking Knowledge: 60 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes
  • English Language: 40 questions, 20 marks, 40 minutes
  • Total: 170 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours

Phase 2: Main Examination – Descriptive Test

  • Total Marks: 50 marks
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Language: English
  • Topics: Email writing, situation analysis, report writing and précis writing

Phase 3: Final Selection

  • Psychometric Test
  • Group Exercise: 20 marks
  • Personal Interview: 30 marks

Negative Marking:

  • 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer in the objective tests.

Phase 1: Preliminary Examination

Candidates must qualify in the Preliminary Examination to move to the Main Examination.

Phase 2: Main Examination

Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination are shortlisted for Phase 3.

Phase 3: Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Personal Interview

  • Psychometric Test: Assesses personality traits and behavioural characteristics.
  • Group Exercise: Assesses a candidate's ability to work and communicate in a group.
  • Personal Interview: Assesses the candidate's suitability for the role of a Probationary Officer.

Final Selection:

Final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the Main Examination and Phase 3, along with fulfilment of the required eligibility and other conditions.
